Live online polls: free-of-charge, anonymous, ad-free, easy-to-use
OnlineClicker.org is a web-based audience response system that
- is easy to use
- requires no login
- collects no personal data and is 100% anonymous
- is free of charge and ad-free
Before the poll, the speaker prepares a presentation slide with a question and several answer options that are numbered starting with 1. Then before (or during) the event, an online poll is created by opening the web page OnlineClicker.org and pressing the Admin button. The speaker chooses a unique poll number and the number of answer options. The chosen poll number can be added to the presentation slide (or written on the board).
There is no option to specify any text for the question or the answers in the web interface. This information should be on the presentation slide. This way, even if someone uninvolved guesses the unique poll number and gets access to the results, the information is rather useless. This design allows to offer this service without any login.
During the event, audience members open the web page OnlineClicker.org with any internet accessible device, enter the unique poll number, and press the Vote button. They are shown the answer options and select one. Because no personal login is required, it is ensured that the votes are anonymous.
To open an existing poll, the speaker presses the Admin button, enters the poll number, and presses the Open button. A live feedback of the poll result is shown that can be directly discussed with the audience. Eight days after the creation of the poll, all data is automatically deleted.
